| Born in Istsanbul
and raised in Switzerland, Cengiz found his way to
The U.S. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, he studied
classical
piano with Margaret Chaloff and Emanuel Zambelli and jazz piano
with Sir Roland Hanna and Charles Banacos.
Living in New York, Cengiz worked with such artists such as: Herbie
Mann, Jay McShann, Gerry Mullligan, Michael and Randy Brecker, Dave
Sanborn, John Scofield, and Joe Morello. He has produced, co-produced,
and associate
produced such artists as: Chaka Khan, Carly Simon, Ken Werner, Felix
Cavaliere, Bill Chinnock, and The Dig.
In addition, his sound scores can be heard in such films as Out
of the Rain, Curfew, Deadly Manor, Luggage of the Gods, and Amateur
Hour.
Presently residing in Los Angeles, Yaltkaya continues to be featured
in
recordings and live events with noted international artists: Eldad
Tarmu and Joe Gaeta. His latest CD, a duet with vibraphonist Tarmu,
features his latest original compositions. In his spare time he
